The Purple Door Cafe is a cute little coffee shop that’s part of the newly built Zora’s House in Weinland Park! It’s located at the front of the space, and is open to the public and serving coffee and snacks
If you’re not familiar with Zora’s House, it’s a non-profit co-working and community space for women of color, named for American writer Zora Neale Hurston (famous for, amongst other things, her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God).
Zora’s House opened their new space on North Fourth Street in the summer of 2024; it’s just around the corner from the Huckleberry House, a space for at-risk and homeless youth.
There’s easy parking out front if you’re grabbing coffee and snacks to-go, or there are a few tables (and a nice patio space) if you want to stay awhile.
In addition to coffee, the cases are loaded with more drinks, sandwiches, snacks. You’ll recognize locals like Bake Me Happy, Three Bites Bakery, and Too Good Eats.
The Purple Door is currently open 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
