Friday Food Bites: Java Central merging with Boston Stoker, Grandview Vinoteca opens

by admin

There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • The owners of Java Central Coffee Roasters in Uptown Westerville announced this week that they will be merging with Boston Stoker after 18 years in business. The shop will continue under the name Java Central with the same staff and programming. You can read the full message on their website (linked above). Boston Stoker is based in Dayton but features two shops in central Ohio in Grandview and Shawnee Hills.
  • Grandview Vinoteca opened this week at 1306 Grandview Ave., in the former Law Bird Supply House space. It features wines, cocktails, and snacks, and is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
  • Three Creeks Kitchen recently debuted at 258 Granville St. in Gahanna. It takes over the former O’Toole’s Irish Pub storefront, and features a modern American menu built around steaks, seafood, and other entrees.
  • Ragamuffins Coffee House in Alexandria will transition ownership after Saturday, Dec. 28. The space at 9 W. Main St. will remain a coffee shop under different owners.
  • Reminder that last call on Milestone 229 is next week Tuesday, Dec. 31. The eatery on the Scioto Mile announced it would be closing after 14 years in business after it was unable to reach a lease agreement with the city.
